AAAHHHH!!!! LEAVING ON A JET PLANE!!!!!

Those travel quotes below are pretty hott, huh? Yeah, I thought so too. I posted them in a refelcctive mood when I was on the computer instead of partying last-minute parties w/ crazy AIESECers. Loser. But I had some cold feet about my decisions thus far (i/e: flee the country), so in a contemplative state I googled the answers to my problems: wise words of far wiser men gone before. April, this is a boring blog. Sorry. Ok. Final Answer, Regis? Leaving the country kicks ass. I just don't know it yet.

ANYWAY BIG CONGRATS to my sister, who graduated college today. Big thumbs down to my habit of twirling my hair, because it's really really sick, let me tell you. People call me John Nash, honestly. It's practically Dustin Hoffman-esque.

Anyway, Ali from Austin just called me from New York, so I should post this. He's hanging out with Natalie, the new bookkeeper. Anyway...

Hasta Luego

I travel no to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel's sake.

Only one week...

I have no studying to do. None. I finally finished a fucking horrendous 15 page paper this morning, and I can safely say I've never written anything that long in my life. And, much to my surprise, tore off the last paper, 3 pages, that's not even due until Thursday. So I turned that in and here we are. Sitting at work, hungry, wondering what the fuck am I going to do tonight if i'm not stressing about work? (note: stressing about work, not actually doing it..I don't think I've ever actually done work my entire college career, just my useless ramblings manifesting themselves and crawling under the professor's door). SO OF COURSE the answer is I will hang out with my AIESEC friends tonight, because tomorrow I move home, and although I will be able to drive back to A2 for any crazy AIESECness that pops up, for the most part I am MIA. Ay, there's the rub. BECAUSE SOME RETARD FORGOT HER DAMN PHONE AT HOME. I don't really know what to do. I might actually use a land phone, but I don't know anyone's number or have a land phone. Using my INCREDIBLE POWERS OF DEDUCTION, I've decided I"ll have to open my Excel of the LC directory, copy down some numbers, and search for a "real" phone. WTF?! Sounds like a lot of damn work to me. What did ppl do before cell phones? Memorize numbers? Also, I'm hoping someone will read this and send me a random email to aasm@umich.edu. hint hint. Finally, by having no studying to do, by no means am I free of work. I have exactly T-6 days to get all my shit together for Peru. Packing and shopping aren't the half of it. I'm REALLY worried about conveying American culture, political views, AIESEC US/Michigan style, and plain capability. I'm freaking out that I won't be able to do what I need to. And let me tell you, nine weeks in South America with no one you know, no cell phone and little access to internet, you better hope you can figure out how to do something...

Necto Fun...Wheee!

Wow, I am becoming Shirley Ma. I've picked up more phrases from that girl than Office Space. BUT, ah! Sugar Cubes are due today!! AhH!!! But, I promise, I'll have them done by tomorrow! Really! They cancelled me at work today (boo, getting poorer!) so maybe I can actually write all the papers I ignored last night for un-drunken but hott Necto fun. BEST AIESEC MOMENT OF THE WEEK: TAKING OVER Necto's when they played the Fish Song. This guy tried to dance with me and I'm all, Trick please, I got AIESEC to dance (that's Colleen)

Dominicanas! Ahora!
Esta viejita esta enterita, y tiene tremendo culo
Meneate chica, tienes tremendo culo,
Esta tan linda, esta tan rica, y tiene tremendo culo
Que linda chiquita, pero que importa si tiene tremendo culo
Has me el favor, y meneate chica, tienes tremendo culo

done with Econ 101...I hope...

Hey all...done with it..whew...unless I have to take it again...yipe! Hope not. BUT, that is pretty cool. And today was FREE CONE DAY at B&J's! AND I ran into my AWESOME MENTEES Jack and Charlotte!!! Yeah!! Abril, ecribe tus mensajes de sucres! LOL I AM SO BAD. Man, Peruvians are gonna laugh their asses off. AND, in my sick attempt to get better at Spanish, I'm getting worse in English. Seriously. I got this essay back today, and the prof. put a note on it, like, are you ok?, because I had so many verb/noun disagreements. I was shades away from "they is" and "them was". Wow April. COMMUNICATE.......

muevelo sin parar

Point 1: I am sick as a dog (where'd we get that anyway?) because of my Yellow Fever vaccination. The nurse was all, "7 days from now you'll feel like dying", and I"m all yeah whatever. Wow. I'm like the creepy kid from The Ring: "Seven days..." Blaaahhhh

Point 2: I ate copious amounts of ice cream to fend off the impending doom of my illness

Point 3: I wish I knew what copious meant. I can only use it in a sentence.

Point 4: I might go out to dinner tonight, even though I have NO read : NONE! money.

Point 5: One exam down, three to go. Econ. tomorrow. That's a doozy.

Point 6: I wish there were a circus in town. When I was a senior in high school there was a tiny circus that came to the one stretch of free space in my town. I'd never seen a circus before, and drove to the park at 6:00 in the morning to watch them set up. I waited for almost an hour, freezing, leaning on my car. Then the trailers pulled in. Elephants, llamas, clowns without makeup and acrobatic equipment. I waited until 2:30 to watch the first show. Then I came back at 9:00 for the night show.

Things that are new enthrall me.

me gusta la pagina

This one looks better than the last one. Kind of like new print. Have you seen Newsies? It's the single best musical made into a movie ever. Ok, maybe not, but the songs are killer. On a lower note, when we were naming hottest actors at lunch I said one was the guy from Count of Monte Cristo. You know, Dantes. Yeah, too bad he plays Jesus in Passion of the Christ. Damn, April. That sucks. I don't know when I'm f*ing going to study, considering I have an exam on Monday and LTM this weekend. Senior Farewell was so good last night! *sniff* Sad!! Not really, because I can't fathom AIESEC without these people (@ w/o 507 Elm? Yeah right), so I haven't really thought about it yet. But it's actually really scary. I mean, Colleen, Shirley, Bostwick, Amber, Arnaub--these kids are the old gaurd. The true AIESEC. Old School. They're what made all of us love the organization and feel the passion. Where will that passion go? Truthfully, I feel it is slipping already. Come on, AIESEC Michigan, ball's in your court.

WHERE THE HELL IS ARNAUB

It's a statement, hence no question mark. That's because, as of the last 2 minutes, it's become my mantra. Where the hell is Arnaub? Gradually modifying to "Where the hell is Arnaub". Yeah. I haven't seen that kid in like a week. Whoa. Also, Peter Brock, you are on my list of los desaparecidos. However, the one that TOPS THE CHARTS is Joshua Johnson. Yeah, haven't seen that kid since boy bands were cool. AWOLers--I better see you at Senior Farewell tomorrow. That's about all I have. Sorry, staying up too late and listening to 'Culo'....great combo....

4/10/2005

Ok, so, I'm amazingly tired. And I really want to go to bed. But, I'll feel guilty about not studying for Econ. Not like that stopped me the OTHER 8 weeks I've had the course, but hey, it's the home stretch and pressure's on. Owww...AIESEC olympics was rough. Hard Core. Nothing like a three-legged race.

That's all I have to say.

Typhoid hurts...AXLDS Rocks!!

OWWWWW

I just got some vaccinations for Peru, and by some, I mean there's like four more to go. But today I got Typhoid and Hep A, and let me tell you, Typhoid HURTS like a bitch. well, I should say the Typhoid vaccine does, although I'm sure the real thing hurts like a bitch as well.

In other breaking news, HOTT GMM TONIGHT!! Amber made a sweet-ass presentation on EXPROS/AXLDS/BRAZIL!!!! Crazy!! Makes me miss crazy @ conferences (!!!) and eager to step up to an international conference. I'll have to get the PPT from her, 'cause it was full of info, but it looks like they covered SOOO much strategy!! It was exciting just reading about it. = ) Then, after MEGA MEGA AIESEC DANCING with my favs, Colleen and Sma, and AIESEC cookie for the OCPS...wtf? branded sweets?...I headed home...or did I? No, I really walked home with Stacey, and we ended up SITTING OUTSIDE my dorm for two hours, talking. So, not as productive of a night as I hoped, but fun... ; )

HEY AIESEC---what do I bring to Peru for American culture??? Will there be an eventual Global Village to be prepared for?? Or will it be more like me presenting the US to the LC??? Send me any of your HOTT @ material for US culture exchange at aasm@umich.edu!!!

And send words of encouragement too...lil' worried about Peruvians not liking me = (

Oh, the debauchery....

Wow. Casino Night. Debauchery. Man, my only resource to feel better about my actions is to remember (hazily) everyone else was just as gone, too. Damn, April.
First of all, apologies to anyone who remotely speaks Spanish. I probably tried to speak with you last night. This includes Asier, Amber, Amber's date (I'm fucking all, "De donde eres?" Nice, April), Bost, Luis, Thad, and Jack. Yeah, you heard me. Jack. Strangely enough, I don't think it impeded our conversation all that much. ARNAUB, YOU ROCK. Man, this kid was ballin' last night, looking good and dancing even better. = ) Thanks for the drinks! Apologizes for my debacle on the couch. April, get a room. Sorry about that whole letting Liz pee in the bushes. Not cool on free-frat property, April! Get your drunken head on straight. Props to Asier, Naub, Trent, Dustin, Bryan---all mad good dancers! Stacey, way to be a great friend at the end of the night! Chicks before dicks, right? I'd rather not reveal the rest of my revelry, but hey, AWESOME PARTY goes out to Colleen, Jack, the OC (we love you!), etc. anyone who made this party awesome!!! 'Cause it was....definitely something to remember.
