Ho-man, as my friend says, that test SUCKED.  Which, in turn, sucks,
because now I'm tired with nothing to show for it.

But, compliments are rolling in like whoa about my mad AIESEC finance
skills, who knew?, so as the Twain says, that will keep me going for
weeks.

Speaking of AIESEC, CRAZY 15+ ppl on the conf line the other day!
Wtf, did someone say Impact?!?  That's what I thought.  =)  TBD
on....tomorrow night, I believe.  Must remember that.

I wanna have a scanner that scans things and converts it into live
files.  Like scan a word document and it pops up an identical word
document so I can edit it, right there.  Or, in my case, scan a
Chinese script and put it into Word so I can use my electronic
mouse-hyperlink dictionary.  Dody and others---this must happen.

My abroad friends SUCK (Joanna, mostly) for not writing back to my
numerous emails.  If you were trying to be forgiven for being gone all
summer, ignoring me will not help your cause.  Nor will writing me
now, after the fact.  You'll just have to send hookah.

What are these tales of "The Barn" in Madison, and what of paying $5
for Halloween???  What is the debauchery planned for Austin, and dear
friends, why does all great fun happen in Dixie?  Bring it back to the
MidWest, I say, to the old Great Lakes' Watery Shore.  Where the Ice
flows and the hookah blows, an AIESECer's tailored lore...

Sorry. I wax a little Masefield when I'm hungry.

My GOD...

Ok, at the behest of Colleen, I will update my blog more often. But might I say to the more frequent update-ers of Nomadlife (Aine, Colleen, Irish MC in general, ahem) how is it possible to blog so much!??! Supreme dedication, they answer.

Anyway.

I also don't update bec there's not too much going on. Tons of AIESEC stuff, I elatedly and resentfully report, as well as a winding down of my class and one of my jobs. Wishing I would have acted sooner on some of this grant money so I could go to IC, but on the other hand, I'm burnt out. There's only so much busy a girl can take. And being me, let's be honest, that's prol a bit more busy than most. ;)

Wow. Umm...still obsessed with sailing, although I haven't had a chance to read my "books. Got ANOTHER shipment of books, about careers this time, haven't had a chance to read those.

In general pissed off at my insurance policy (Blue Care) and the U-M, because they've both screwed me over of late, demanding money.

I went shopping last Friday and bought everything I wanted. No looking at price tags, not even looking at sizes in some cases, just buying it because I WANTED it. And it was quite a large high. One that I will not be made to feel badly about, because regardless of the wastefulness of Americans, blah blah blah, if the shoe fits, wear it. And man, my shoes are cute. =)

Lol. As one of my good friends once said, "Do you ever listen to yourself talk, and then afterward think, 'Man, I am so self-centered?;"

"No, because when you're me, you already know it".

SIGH. All right. Back to all my crazy AIESEC emails, and feeling a bit resentful about it. Deliberately skipping my conference call at 8:00. We'll see about tomorrow's at 10:00. That sounds more interesting, at least.

This drivel goes out to Colleen--- =)

Ever read Jabberwocky??

Jargontalk

Larry Colen

Twas Unix and the C++
Did compile and load upon the VAX:
All Ritchie was the Kernighan,
And LISP ran in GNU EMACS.

"Beware the Jargontalk, my son.
The Mac that talks, the dull PC.
Beware the Amiga, and shun
The voluminous PDP."

He took his listed code in hand:
Long time the pointer bug he sought--
So rested he by the Coke machine,
And stood awhile in thought.

And as in nerdish thought he stood,
The Jargontalk, with awk and grep,
Came geeking through the COBOL wood,
And edlin'd as it schlepped.

One two! One two! And through and through!
The line printer went click'ty clack!
And with a meg of memory dump,
He pulled an allnight hack.

"And hast thou slain the Jargontalk?
Telnet to me, my nerdish boy!
Copyleft GNU! Callooh! Callay!"
He deroffed in his joy.

Twas Unix and the C++
Did compile and load upon the VAX:
All Ritchie was the Kernighan,
And LISP ran in GNU EMACS.

A schooner story...

I got three books on sailing today. They finally came. One of said books is used by the US CG. I am going to learn how to tie complicated knots, and use words like keel and starboard and scurvy. I'm going to sail the seven seas and haul anchor and ask permission to come aboard, etc. All of this momentum is only heightened by the beginning of the Port Huron Tall Boat Race beginning today. Never mind that I don't live near water. Never mind that I've never been on a sailboat. Never mind that I don't know how to swim. Sailing is my passion, dammit.

Arrr, maties.
